Founded in 1914, Foxcroft is a college-preparatory boarding & day school for girls in grades 9-12
Foxcroft’s mission is to help every girl explore her unique voice and to develop the skills, confidence, and courage to share it with the world. Unique learning experiences, an uncommonly beautiful setting in which to learn and grow, and a warm, residential community comprised of 151 girls from 18 states, the District of Columbia, and 13 countries support this mission.
The School?s innovative curriculum offers 79 courses, including 15 Advanced Placement classes and a cutting-edge STEM program that inspires girls to pursue science, technology and engineering degrees and careers at a much higher rate than the national average for young women. Its one-of-a-kind Exceptional Proficiency Program enables girls with special skills and talents to take time away from campus for training and competing at a high level in pursuit of their passions ? be they riding, swimming, sport climbing or acting ? while remaining students in good standing and integral members of the school community.
Foxcroft fields athletic teams in nine sports, including a nationally-known riding program and a state champion lacrosse team. About one-third of the students receive financial assistance; 24 percent are international students, and 19 percent are students of color.

Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
100 years! Foxcroft was founded in 1914.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a boarding and day school for girls in grades 9-12 that provides a residential learning experience for girls in which academic excellence, leadership, responsibility and integrity are our highest values -- but that's doesn't begin to describe what we do to prepare girls to succeed and be leaders in college, in careers, and in life!
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our founder wanted to create a school that girls would love to come to and hate to leave -- and more than any other school I know this is truly the case. Girls flourish here and develop profound relationships, with each other and with the School itself, that last a lifetime. It's surprising to what degree that enables these girls/women to lives their lives with confidence, passion and goals, often in order to make a real difference in the world.
